Field Trip Experience

Introduction:
Our trip to Jakarta brought out our hidden excitement as we eagerly prepared to experience the thrill of riding extreme rides. Feel free to read through this rush of emotion as I recall my time there.

Getting There:
Our journey started early in the morning as we hopped on a rather comfortable bus from Bandung to Jakarta. The scenic route gave us beautiful views of green landscapes and rolling hills. The trip takes about three to four hours, giving us lots of time to talk with freinds, enjoy snacks, or just look out the window.

Arriving at Dufan:
Finally, we arrived at the entrance of Dunia Fantasi, Jakarta's top amusement park. The excitement was tangible as we saw the famous Dufan entrance sign and the tall Ferris wheel in the distance. As we entered, the park's colorful and lively atmosphere surrounded us.

The Rides and Attractions:
Dufan offers a wide range of rides and attractions suitable for all ages. From thrilling roller coasters to gentle carousels, there's something for everyone. We began with the thrilling "Hysteria," a drop tower ride that left us breathless and thrilled.

For those looking for a more relaxed experience, the "Istana Boneka" (Doll Palace) was a delightful journey through a whimsical world of dolls and miniature scenes. It was a nice breeze from the scorching hot sun.

One of the highlights of our day was the "Kora-Kora," a swinging ship that took us on an exciting ride above an artificial lake. Joyful screams filled the air as the ship swung higher and higher, as if making us feel that we were almost floating.

Food and Refreshments:
Exploring Dufan can make you hungry, and the park offers various dining options. We enjoyed some Yoshinoya and some cold beverages, but there are also local Indonesian choices such as Nasi Goreng available as well.

Entertainment and Shows:
Besides the rides, Dufan provides captivating shows and entertainment all day long. We watched an enchanting dance performance that showcased Indonesia's rich cultural heritage.

Here are just some pictures of a few of the rides we went on:
(Ontang Anting)
This ride may look rather scary, but in reality, once you've went on it, you'll soon realize just how relaxing and fun this ride is. It's a perfect way to both start and end your day at Dufan, with it being placed right at the front entrance.

(Baling Baling)
This ride looks scary.. and it honestly is, for most people. The first time you go on this, you feel the chills down your spine as you go up to the top and get spun, then spin down revoltingly fast, making certain people dizzy. After numerous times though, it stars to be rather fun, for me just being like a giant swing.

We left Dufan quite late, at around 6pm, then immediately went to Banjar Djakarta for seafood. I would say the food isn't necessarily bad, but it isnt the best. Judging that it's 'All You Can Eat,' you can't really complain much though. So I'd say it's worth it.

Not long after, we went to our hotel, Best Western. Here's the thing though-- I thought it would be a relatively good hotel since it was rated 4 stars, but oh boy was I wrong. Some people's lights shattered and flickered, the towels were damp and smelled like sweat, the floors were either dusty, dirty, or sticky, and the overall vibe of the place was kind of eerie. And this isn't just from me. Almost everyone I know has said something very similar to me in regards to the hotel.

But luckily we exited quickly, only staying for a day, and after a couple of activities in Keong Emas (a movie theater,) then we continued to watch some sort of space trip (it wasn't entertaining to say the least,) and finally, probably the most interesting activity, visiting PP Iptek.

PP Iptek is a science center where there are loads of science and electricity-related gimmicks that are truly intriguing. I even recorded some tesla-ball-orb sort of thing:

Then after that, we went on the bus and finally went home.

*I forgot to mention that we were also given lots of food and water by the teachers, so thanks! :)
