The film is directed by Peyton Reed, written by Jeff Loveness, and stars Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly, alongside a cast of returning and new actors. The plot follows Lang and Van Dyne as they face Kang the Conqueror in the Quantum Realm. The film was confirmed in November 2019, with production starting during the COVID-19 pandemic. Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne are pulled into the Quantum Realm along with their family and face Kang the Conqueror.
