For some, their all-time favorite food or meal would be a unique dish that originated from their own country. But for me, it would be a whole different story.
My dish of choice would be a dish made with beef, potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, and some roux. This savory and hearty dish makes for a fabulous introduction to new eaters exploring and searching for delicious foods. It has a mild and sweet flavour, coupled with a stew-like consistency. Can you guess what the dish is?
If you guessed Japanese Beef Curry, then you'd be absolutely on point!
There are quite a few reasons as to why I prefer this peculiar meal over something like a delicious Big Mac, but these are just the top and main ones;
1. It's nutritious (32g of protein is actually quite alot for just 1 single small serving).
2. It's delicious (nothing to say here, just actually verry good).
3. It makes you full very quickly.
4. It isn't expensive and is quite affordable.
Here's a picture of the Japanese Beef Curry, just in case you don't know what it looks like:
Alright, so here's a little backstory about the dish;
The Japanese Beef Curry didn't actually originate in Japan, and instead in India. But why is it called Japanese? The answer to that question is actually quite simple -- It was brought to Japan from India by the Brits during the Meiji Era (1868-1912), and since then, it has been converted into the Japanese version and is becoming increasingly popular, with it suddenly skyrocketing in fame during the late 1960's. And fun fact; the curry had been changed SOO MUCH that it stands as its own Japanese version of the Indian Curry, and not just a simple slightly different curry.
To be honest, I'll let you in on a small secret.
It's not that the Japanese Beef Curry is so much better than the Indian Curry, and if I had to rate it, the Indian version would be a solid 9/10, with the Japanese version being 8.5/10. So why exactly did I choose the Japanese version? The answer.. is quite surprising.
It's all because I'm biased.
And yes, this blog post is a little short, since I don't really know what to put here, so I guess that's it! Thanks for reading.
